The fact that the initial reports of receiver Eric Decker’s deal with the Titans included no financial details created the distinct impression that it wasn’t a very good deal. Gene Frenette: Carr’s monster contract a reminder of Jaguars’ QB shortcomings

The Oakland Raiders signing Derek Carr to a five-year, $125 million contract extension was another reminder to the Jaguars about an inability to fix their quarterback situation, the biggest impediment in becoming relevant. Carr was picked in the second round of the 2014 draft, 33 slots after the Jaguars picked Blake Bortles to be the long-term answer at quarterback. Unless he rebounds from a disastrous 2016, which is a 50-50 proposition at best at this point, the Jaguars will be looking at other position options next year. It’s obvious Bortles is feeling the pressure to respond, and not just…

That is terrifying. I don’t need to go through the issues with the law that these two have had. I am sure you are fully aware. This is even worse than when the NFL had Pacman speak at the rookie symposium. The Titans pass rush wasn’t the problem in 2017

This isn’t really a surprise. Last year the Texans and the Jaguars were touted for having really good defenses, and for good reason. It was tough to throw on the Jaguars and the Texans were really good against the pass and strong against the run. The Titans, on the other hand, weren’t so good on defense. Yes, their numbers against the run were good, but that was a product of teams not ever running the ball because it was so easy to throw. That is what made this graphic from Pro Football Focus pretty surprising to me:#Titans Derrick Morgan led the AFC South with 67 total pressures…

It is time for him to get back on the field and show this team what he can do.Mike Mularkey was very complimentary of the work DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry have done to this point. ESPN did a big post talking about one player that has the most to prove for each team in the NFL. Paul Kuharsky did the Titans portion, and he selected Kevin Dodd. Here are his comments:It's only Dodd's second season, but he didn't show much as a rookie before heading to injured reserve with lingering issues from summer foot surgery on a stress fracture. He has been dealing with issues connected to the foot in the offseason. The Titans need a reliable third edge guy after starters Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan. Dodd needs to show he's that guy, or they might need to put it atop their…

Titans Listed with the 9th Best Odds to Win the AFC Championship

I think Vegas is lowballing the Titans here. The sportsbook Bet Online has released their NFL Futures page, which includes title odds for the divisions, conferences and the Super Bowl. They seem to be one of the few that isn’t jumping on the Titans hype train this offseason. They list Tennessee with 25-1 odds to win the AFC Championship to get to the Super Bowl. That part sounds about right, but there are eight teams with better odds in front of them.
